PRS Products can be described using a Dimension Unit, which specifies the attributes by which the product can be measured. Products can be unitary (ie a single, non-sizeable unit of measure), or a combination of length, width and height. This enables PRS Product catalogues to maintain product stock holdings of varying sizes within the same product code.

Example

A company may hold stocks of gas, and need to track the total amount held in stock at any time. However, these stocks may be purchased and issued in differing containers, each of which might be partially consumed.
